What says Christmas more than Captain Kirk? Well, it’s not Christmas Day in these photos exactly. But on November 29th, 1968 William Shatner dressed as Captain Kirk appeared in the Carillon Parade in Columbia, South Carolina. The first photo is a screenshot taken from WNOK (now WLTX) news footage of the event (link to the video later). The second and third are from the Walker Local and Family History Center Digital Collections at the Richlands Library in that city. (https://cutt.ly/JrqTbWW)

will be taking some time off to enjoy the holidays and to find time to
research more articles. Seasons greetings to all!
Pretty amazing that he actually dressed up in his Trek costume.
Nimoy did so too back then. Once. He was mobbed by people who tried to tear it off as a souvenir. And that’s what ended the actors showing up anywhere in costume. Only recently have some begun doing so at conventions, though it’s likely not screen worn.
Breaking up is hard to do, but Ron and Hermione are about to discover that putting the pieces back together is even harder. This story was nominated in 5 categories and Winner of “Best Angst Fic” at the 2008 Ron/Hermione Awards on LiveJournal.
If you are in the mood to read a long, but really long story filled with so much angst, read this one! It is really really good.
A young woman saves Ron from being murdered and throws his world into chaos. Who is she? Why has Ron never met her? AU but attempts to stick to some elements of canon.
Everyone needs to go read this story, it is seriously one of the most fluffy and angsty stories out there, I can’t even explain how good it is. You will have a lot of Ron and Hermione feels. Just please read it!!!
Hermione’s life is not what she expected it to be and she doesn’t know how to change it. Will moving back to what she knows help? Or is she pinning all her hopes on a dream that ended years before?
Three years ago, Hermione removed herself from Ron’s memory. Now, the spell is broken and Ron is bloody hacked off about it. But could Hermione have good reasons for what she did, reasons that might mean the difference between life and death?
This one is a mystery, a really cute one, I really recommend it.
Everything is returning to normal after the War. But when it comes to Ron and Hermione, the word ‘normal’ doesn’t really apply. And with the world around them still in pieces, will they rebuild it together, or will they find it difficult just to stay together when there’s so so much left unsaid? Book 1 in the There Is a Light Series.
Ok, everyone must read this story. This story will make you cry! I guarantee it! This story has so much angst and you HAVE to be patient while reading it because it has a lot of flashbacks but those flashbacks are so important and this story is so well written, there is just one thing I disliked about it but I can’t tell you because it will kill it for you. Even though this story is now completed I honestly haven’t reviewed the last chapter and not because I’ve been to lazy to do so but because I seriously haven’t gotten over what happened. And I honestly need time, it is such a stupid reason but to me it meant a lot, but everyone should really go read it, I’ve never cried so much with a story, the author is brilliant.
Set at end of HBP. As the ministry falls further under Voldemorts control a new law is passed, forcing Hermione into a life she wasn’t ready for. How will it affect the horcrux hunt and the fight against Voldemort? rated M for minor adult themes, nothing too crazy.
This one is very fluffy and sweet, it’s a good read.
Hermione’s anxiety takes a hold of her and threatens to get in the way of her slow and developing relationship with Ron. He is the only one who can pull her out of her own head long enough to finally let go.
Post Hogwarts: Ron and Harry are sent to America for Auror training. Ron spends his last night in England with Hermione, and after returning two years later, he finds Hermione with a fifteen-month-old baby …
Really cute, loved it, one of the first stories I read, doesn’t follow DH.
He was Ron and she was Hermione. And they had survived. What else could possibly bother to exist outside of them? Rated M. The 19 year gap between the last chapter and the epilogue.
Hermione Granger grew up in the Muggle World hiding her magical ability from those around her. That all changes when Ron Weasley, Auror, makes an interesting discovery while on a case. AU but keeping with the books.
Set right after the Second Wizarding War. Harry and Ron have just become Auror’s, and Harry has taken Teddy into his home. But when Harry goes missing, who is left to take care of Teddy? Ron, with the help of Hermione, is forced to pick up the broken pieces, bringing the new couple only closer together. Rated M for some adult content.
Captain Ron Weasley and his team are the best Aurors the Ministry has. But when one of the missions goes wrong Ron finds himself straddled with the last thing he ever expected. AU Not Deathly Hallows Compliant.
Ok, so, I REALLY didn’t wanna do this, I don’t wanna seem disrespectful to OP but I also kinda fell like some might need to be warned about Faultlines.
I too loved it the first time I read it, it was the best of the “Hermione leaves Ron and he’s a mess without her” fics. Back then Hermione ALWAYS left Ron, and Ron was ALWAYS a mess without her, so you kinda just went with it. But Faultlines is a “Hermione leaves Ron and he’s a mess without her,” fic
When I reread it a few years later I couldn’t stomach how pathetic I found Ron and I kinda feel like, with the growing amount of respect he’s been getting over the past couple years…. this fic might not hold up as well as it did back then and might not be for hardcore Ron Lovers.
Omg, you’re right. Reading this brought me flashbacks of the story and yeah, I can see how problematic it can be. I honestly haven’t read this story in years, and I’ve forgotten a lot of it.
I was so young when I first read these stories that if I were to read them now that I’m older my list may possibly be different. just with some of them. some hold a special place in my heart and bring good memories
“Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn’t feel like I’m
there yet and I don’t know what the future holds. I’m just going to go
with the flow, keep playing interesting characters and see what happens.
I’d like to settle down and have kids soon. If I had a son, would I
call him Ron? It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a
tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with.”
